Hello, my name is Emily and I live in the Midwest with my husband and elementary age son.  I also have two older children who have “fled the nest.”  My daughter is away at college and my eldest son has left college to see what the world has to offer him.  We’ll see how that goes.  I just want them both to find what truly makes them happy.

I just recently turned 45 and I have to say I wouldn’t turn back the clock even if I could.  I am definitely much more confident with who I am and my style choices than I was in my younger years.  However, I do find that it can be daunting to find your inner voice when it comes to fashion as you age.  We are constantly inundated with images of youth.  It can be difficult to strike a balance between not dressing like our daughters and yet not dressing like our mothers.

I’m going to use this blog to try to refine my fashion choices and stretch my comfort zone a bit.  As a stay at home mom, my wardrobe is strongly weighted towards comfortably stylish items that can go from the grocery store to volunteering at my son’s school to a client dinner with my husband.  I love blazers with jeans – arguably my go to outfit.  Ever useful for dressing down with Converse trainers or dressing up with a pair of heels.  I hope you’ll join me on this adventure!
