3 Great Looks from the Shopbop Sale

Good Morning!  I have had the best time sorting through the sale at ShopBop and I thought I would share my favorites.  This sale is really amazing – use the code “GOBIG17” and receive
15% Off Orders of $200+, 20% Off Orders of $500+, and 25% Off Orders of $800+ from now until March 4th.

Shopbop isn’t a store I often shop at due to the fact that they carry name brands that tend to have a bit higher price tag.  However, they can be great for designer jeans, name brand purses and killer shoes.  I always use their sales to stock up on wardrobe staples of good quality.

I put together three spring looks using timeless classics.

Lunch with A Friend

Goodmorning, everyone! I woke up in the best mood today.  Don’t you just love days like that?  If only I could make it happen more than a couple of times a week.  Sigh.

Today I have the pleasure of having lunch with an old friend who I haven’t spent much time with recently.  One of the things I resolved to do this year is to make more time for my friendships.  As the years fly by it seems like some of the people who I truly adore just slipped away, little by little.  So I am going to try to get in touch with them and actively cultivate the friendships.

Today I went with a classic preppy look.  Navy blazer – I couldn’t live without mine – and kick cropped chinos.  I just love these pants.  Great price at Jcrew, $29.

Hope everyone enjoys their day!

WIWT – Simple Classics with Accessories

Ugh…another Monday morning.  Back to the grind of getting everyone up and out the door at crazy early o’clock.  Yesterday I neglected to follow my cardinal rule of prepping my outfit the night before – so I was a little frazzled this morning when it came time to get dressed.  My solution to this was to fall back on a look that never goes out of style – a  white oxford shirt and jeans.  Simple, timeless classics that I’m sure everyone has versions of in their wardrobe.  I tend to believe that the secret to making a look like this work well is in the details.  A nice leather belt, a couple of interesting pieces of jewelry and a proper bag make all the difference.

We’ve got a busy week ahead with a few appointments and a project of my son’s to complete.  I’m going to have to make every minute count today or I will quickly fall behind.  Hope every has a great start to their week!

WIWT – Red Leather and Distressed Jeans

Goodmorning, all!  Moving a little slow this morning after a late night watching Lebron and the Cavs.  Great game and well worth a bit of lost sleep.  But now I’ve got to get moving to accomplish everything on my to-do list before the start of the weekend. Planning a quiet night in with my boys – thinking it might be a good night to order in pizza.

Today’s outfit is pairing a favorite jacket from Express that I have gotten a lot of use out of with an animal print scarf.  Faux leather keeps the costs down. If you are considering a purchase at Express this weekend, the code “1996” will take $25 off of every $100 you spend.  Simple white tee, just perfect in case I can sneak in a lazy nap.  The Frye boots are amazing – so versatile.  Just as much at home with a pretty dress as with this outfit.  A little pricey, but if you take of them they will last a lifetime.

Hope you all enjoy a wonderful start to your weekend!

Roundup of Current Sales

, ,

Goodmorning all!  So many winter sales, so little money…fortunately we are all in great luck this morning as many of our favorite sites have some crazy good deals right now.

I thought I would try something fun today and see what kind of outfits I can find that are wearable now – in the shift from winter to spring – for under $300.  I’m going to focus on items that will prove endlessly useful throughout the year.  And of course with an eye to working well on those of us who no longer have an interest in dressing like teenagers.

I’m going to head over to Banana Republic first.  You’ll want to use the code “MIDWEEK” and be advised that it does expire tonight, February 23rd.  After applying the available discount, this outfit goes for $307.  I believe everything in here will mix and match all spring and summer for lots of versatility.

Next up I dug around the sale section of White House Black Market.  They have some amazing “buy one get one 50% off” deals going right now.  It didn’t take me long to put together this little number that will be perfect for running around town.  I may add a colored scarf at the neck to add some appeal.  I couldn’t resist clicking the “place order” button.  Sigh.  This outfit came up at $260.

My last stop today is JCrew Factory.  I have found their items to be top quality and the price is generally great.  I really love putting on a pair of ecru jeans at this time of year.  It doesn’t feel quite time for true white, however, ecru looks so fresh.  I own these jeans and I can vouch for their utter amazingness. They come in three inseams – 26″(for the shorties like me), 28″, and 30″.  So even the shortest amongst us can get a pair of jeans that don’t need to take a trip to the tailor for once.  I have the 26″ and I am 5’3″ – they hit just above my ankle.  A perfect summer length. The total on this outfit comes in at $241.  Happy shopping, ladies!

What I wore today

Good morning, everyone! Today’s weather looks rather iffy, so boots it is! I really cannot wait for the weather to change – I am seriously missing my sandals. May have to get an optimistic pedicure this week so I am prepared. But back to my outfit – I just love olive green and black together. The dark red bracelet and purse give it a nice pop of color.  I just love the bracelet – Macy’s also has a similar one in black that I am definitely thinking would be a great addition to my jewelry box.
